Karl Frederick Mattson (b. 1989) is a photographer and filmmaker based in Buffalo, New York. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Printmaking from the Hartford Art School in 2013.
With previous experience at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, and currently as an Art Preparator and Lighting Technician at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, his personal work borrows from his day-to-day perspective of what is generally unseen to the public eye in the arts.
The subject matter Karl explores are often void of direct human contact. His focal point instead centers around what proceeds their influence.
