Karl Frederick Mattson is a filmmaker, photo-taker, and ephemera-collector based in Buffalo, New York. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography with a minor in Printmaking from the Hartford Art School in 2013.
With previous experience at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, and currently as an Art Preparator and Lighting Technician at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, his personal work borrows from his day-to-day perspective of what is generally unseen or overlooked.
The subject matter Karl explores is often void of direct human contact. Instead, his focus is on what results from their influence.
