542films is an independently owned and operated video production company founded by artist Karl Frederick Mattson. Productions focus on stories of people, places, and the everyday.

542films strives to create purposeful moving pictures through smaller productions. It’s inspired by the deliberate process of ambient cinema and film photography, where the narrative and visual language are sculpted with care and precision.
